I Thessalonians 4:18

Central Theme:  God wants us to have the courage to encourage others.

Helping and encouraging each other

Introduction–There is something that will change people’s lives that you can do.  It is very simple.  It won’t cost you a penny.  It will make you feel better.  It will change your life as well as others.

I.     Have a member Read I Thessalonians 4:18.

A. Tell the story of Deborah and Barak.

              B. Deborah encouraged Barak to do the right thing.

C. God’s people were saved from an evil king.

II.     Encouragement changes people and maybe even history.

A. To whom should I give encouragement?  Everyone.

1.  Your friends and family.

2.  Your enemy and people who do you wrong

B. How do I give encouagement?

1.  Say, “You look nice today,” and mean it.

C. Always be sincere in your compliments.

D. Give out lots of compliments but tell the truth.  There is something you say that is nice to everyone.

III.     Learn to practice random acts of kindness and love.

A. Tell people you don‘t know that they are doing a good job.

B. Let people know that you appreciate their work.

Conclusion–When you encouage others, you become part of God‘s plan for that person because God wants blessing and goodness to fall to everyone.
